REDUCE YOUR STRESS WITH PAMPERING Sheryl Fonoti Busy mums often think of everybody else before themselves. There are kids to feed, bathe, clothe and love. There are husbands that need our attention. There are friends and family members who have problems that need solutions, where is there time for us? As busy as we may get, to get survive each day and be the best mum, wife, daughter and friend we must look after ourselves. Here are some simple ways to do this. * Eat properly. At least three meals a day, don't skip breakfast. Make sure you have all the food groups included in your daily intake.
* Exercise at least three times a week for 30 minutes each time.
* Drink plenty of water. If you don't like water, drink hot water or add a slice of lemon.
* Reduce caffeine intake.
* Get 8 hours sleep.
* Take regular breaks when working, I know some women who don't stop and sit down for a break all day. Stopping for 10 minutes will make a big difference to your day and your stress levels.
* Ask for help when needed, we may feel like it but we aren't Superwomen. Remember others ask you for help so when you ask they are just returning the favour.
* Say "no" when you can't fit in that extra task, this is much better than not being able to give 100%.
* Schedule an appointment with yourself at least once a week. Do something that you enjoy, have coffee with a friend, read a book, take a walk, ride a bike, spend some time on a hobby.
* Let others look after you, have a facial, a massage or let hubby and the kids make you breakfast in bed.
